About Us

Welcome to Rose & Virginia. My name is Jessica Vanderberg and I am a Brooklyn-based event designer and orchestrator.  I style and organize weddings and other social occasions.  Please explore the site and contact me to discuss how Rose & Virginia can help create the most unique, offbeat, traditional, small or large celebration.

Beginnings

I’ve always been passionate about parties, etiquette, organizing and socializing.  When I was little, I made tea party invitations for my dolls, played hostess in an imaginary restaurant and set the table with enthusiasm.

In 2006, two friends got engaged and asked me to plan their weddings. A year later, I began planning my own and during the process, my purpose became clear: I needed to plan and create.

Et voila…Rose & Virginia was born.

Mission

Rose & Virginia makes your event an expression of you. I love when people come to me with a quote, a word or a color – even a piece of fabric that inspires.  I then create a day that reflects you. Not sure what you want? I’m happy to help you define your event style.

Crafts

The best parties have homespun details. I create bespoke touches like homemade invitations, paper chains and bunting, pillows as favors, and runners and napkins…the list can go on! This makes even the most lavish event feel intimate and inviting. Please see gallery for examples.

Origins

My grandmother Rose was the “original” party planner. An Italian American with a large family, she often hosted dinners, creating an inviting atmosphere.  She made wedding cakes for a living and sewed dresses that are still wearable today. She made every event appear seamless and every project seem effortless.

A consummate hostess, my grandmother Virginia was a Midwestern housewife of a PanAm pilot.  She wore pearls with aprons, did her hair to go to the salon and made the best fried chicken.  She dabbled in painting and was often heard saying, “a little color never hurt anyone.”
